Dr. sc. Nat. ETH Ing. Biotech Christian H. Leist

Christian Leist has gained 35 years of experience in medical biology, medtech, R&D, biotech, cell and gene therapy. Since 2017, Mr. Leist works as a self-employed biotech and medtech consultant. Since 2018, he is President of the Board of Directors at Axenoll Life Science AG. From 2012 to 2017, he was responsible for the CMC of cell and gene therapy of Novartis Pharma AG. From 1989 to 2012, he held several positions in development, scale-up, transfer and production of biopharmaceutical proteins. For his technology project, he received the Novartis Leading Scientist Award and the Swiss National Science & Technology Award. He holds a MSc in cytology and a PhD in bioprocess engineering. For 27 years he has been holding lectures in cell culture technology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), he has been invited to speeches and international congresses and advised more than 60 students during their Master or PHD thesis.
